EUROTOX 2026 will be held at the Austria Center Vienna (ACV) where we will celebrate the 60th birthday of this congress series. The congress serves to increase the exchange of scientific information between toxicologists in academia, regulatory, and industry across Europe, as well as from other geographical regions of the world.

New approach methodologies (NAMs) are reshaping modern toxicology by enabling human-relevant, mechanism-based approaches for safety assessment while supporting the reduction of animal use.
In this sponsored session, we’ll present recent advances in the development, validation, and implementation of innovative NAMs across genetic, mechanistic, and developmental toxicology. We will discuss the details and practical implications of the recently published OECD TG 446A for ToxTracker and its increasing adoption in industrial and regulatory testing strategies.
The session will also introduce two emerging in vitro assays designed to address complex toxicity endpoints: a novel mitochondrial toxicity assay based on the ToxProfiler platform and an innovative developmental toxicity assay for identifying skeletal developmental effects.
Together, these technologies demonstrate how mechanism-based NAMs can improve the predictive power and human relevance of safety assessment.
