ToxProfiler
Earlier this year, we introduced the ToxProfiler assay, a unique New Approach Method (NAM) that provides toxic mechanistic insight into novel medicines, (agro)chemicals, cosmetics and food ingredients. ToxProfiler is a human cell reporter assay that can accurately quantify the cellular stress responses induced by chemicals. ToxProfiler generates a toxicological fingerprint for each compound, representing the cellular stress responses activated upon exposure.
ToxProfiler can be applied for broad toxicity profiling of compounds. ToxProfiler is particularly applicable for early chemical safety testing by providing insight into the mode-of-action (MoA) of toxic compounds, as well as read-across, adverse outcome pathway (AOP) and weight-of-evidence (WoE) approaches.

Interested in learning more about ToxProfiler? We will be hosting a webinar on Thursday, April 8 2021 at 4.00 PM CET, to answer all your questions regarding ToxProfiler. Please save the date and stay tuned for more details via our website and LinkedIn.
SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo 2021

We are very excited to participate in the next SOT meeting. There are many ways in which you can connect with us during this online event:

Exhibitor Hosted Session

On the 17th of March at 9.00-10.00 AM ET, together with Miltenyi Biotech, we will host a session titled: A highly quantitative in vitro method for mechanistic genotoxicity screening.

Poster presentations:

ReproTracker, a Human Stem Cell-Based Biomarker Assay for In Vitro Assessment of Developmental Toxicity – March 22 at 11.15 AM – 1.00 PM ET #2497: Poster Board – P235

TubulinTracker, a Novel In Vitro Reporter Assay to Study Intracellular Microtubule Dynamics, Cell Cycle Progression, and Aneugenicity – March 23 at 1.00 – 2.45 PM ET #2808: Poster Board – P274

Validation of the ToxProfiler Assay for the Quantification of the Onset of Adverse Responses and to Reveal the Underlying Mode of Action – March 25 at 1.00 – 2.45 PM ET #3177: Poster Board – P160

Virtual Booth:

We will be live and available for any questions you might have at the Toxys booth during the ToxExpo hours between 8.30 – 10.00 AM and 4.00 – 5.30 PM ET.

Publications on ToxTracker

Boreiko et al. Mode of action assessment of the genotoxic properties of antimony and its compounds evaluated in the ToxTracker assay. In this paper published by the International Antimony Association (I2A) in collaboration with Toxys, Boreiko et al. tested antimony (Sb) and eleven antimony-containing compounds in the ToxTracker assay to better understand their toxic mode-of-action (MOA).

Allemang et al. A comparison of classical and 21st century genotoxicity tools: A proof of concept study of 18 chemicals comparing in vitro micronucleus, ToxTracker and genomics-based methods (TGx-DDI, whole genome clustering and connectivity mapping). In this proof of concept study by Allemang et al. from P&G, two in vitro genotoxicity assays (ToxTracker and the micronucleus assay) and three genomics‐based approaches using microarray data were assessed for their ability to separate direct acting from indirect acting genotoxicants.

Toxys strengthens its management team with the addition of CSO

We welcome Torben Osterlund as Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) to the Toxys team. Torben brings scientific expertise about safety assessment and in vitro assay development and experience in drug development within big pharma to Toxys.

“I am very excited and proud about the appointment of Torben as Chief Scientific Officer at Toxys. Torben has experience in drug development within big pharma, assay development in small biotech and providing services as a CRO. He shares our spirit of innovation and will lead the scientific developments at Toxys and will further enable the intended growth of Toxys.”  - Giel Hendriks, CEO of Toxys BV.
