Better in vitro dosing partners

Create2Solve Funded Consortium Annual Progress Meeting

Better in vitro dosing partners

Toxys is one of the five partners in the ‘Better in vitro dosing’ consortium, funded by ZonMw’s Create2Solve subsidy program. The aim of the project is to develop alternative dosing technologies for in vitro assays to better reflect human exposure. These novel dosing approaches should be integrated into Next Generation Risk Assessment. Currently in Phase II of this project, the consortium is working towards improving dosing methods for instable, volatile, highly plastic and plasma protein bound chemicals.

The project group aims to develop tools that account and control for the degradation, evaporation, and binding of chemicals to in vitro system setups, improving the reliability and robustness of in vitro assay readouts for quantitative in vitro-in vivo extrapolations (QIVIVE).

Last week, the consortium partners Dr. Nynke Kramer from Wageningen University; Dr. Yvonne Staal, Peter Bos, Evert Duistermaat, and Dr. Veronique de Bruijn from RIVM; Dr. Chiel Jonker from Utrecht University; Dr. Marjolein Wildwater and Dr. Eefje Poppelaars from Vivaltes; and Dr. Giel Hendriks, and Nynke Moelijker from Toxys  got together with all the industrial sponsors and Advisory Board of the project to report on the progress made so far, as well as to discuss the upcoming milestones.
