
Advancing Chemical Safety Testing Through NAMs!
We recently published an article entitled “Toxicological mode-of-action and developmental toxicity of different carbon chain length PFAS” in Toxicology Letters together with Honeywell.
We utilized two of our advanced assays, ToxProfiler and ReproTracker, to assess the toxicological mode-of-action and developmental toxicity of different PFAS with varying carbon chain lengths.
Key Findings:
✅ Increasing carbon chain length of PFAS was linked to their increased cytotoxicity in the ToxProfiler assay.
✅ PFAS with varying carbon chain lengths had different toxicological MoA profiles in ToxProfiler.
✅ Ultra-short-chained PFAS like TFA (C2) and Perfluoropropionic acid (C3) did not trigger cellular stress responses in ToxProfiler and were non-toxic at tested concentrations.
✅ Long carbon chain length of PFAS was correlated to increased teratogenic effects in ReproTracker.
